Introducing Don Carron . . .
Advanced Circuits'
Director of Technology

Now available for circuit board training at your facility!

Don Carron is one of our industry's most knowledgeable engineers and brings to Advanced Circuits over 28 years of printed circuit board experience dating back to January 1983 when he began his career holding a variety of positions at Industrial Circuits (I/C), Toppan Electronics, and Herco Technology.  His early responsibilities included circuit broad experience in production control, Q, drill, and lamination.  At Herco his primary responsibility was working with customers (OEMs and CMs) from a quality as well as technical capacity.

In 2001 he accepted a field applications engineer position at TTM Technologies where he utilized his many years of experience assisting customers by applying technical knowledge for DFMs, making customer visits, and conducting survey as well as conducting on-and off-site technology presentations and workshops.  He was promoted to Director of Technology where he helped guide TTM into new processes and capabilities in addition to interacting with the customer and technical personnel at sister sites in Redmond, WA and Chippewa Falls, WI.

During this period he helped implement MIL-PRF-31032 in Santa Ana, CA and introduced fully copper-filled microvia technology (DRPP process), thin-film resistors (Ohmega-Ply and Gould TCR) and Sanmina's buried capacitance process (BC-2000 and BC-1000). While at TTM he participated in many industry-sponsored presentations and workshops including a design for manufacturability workshop at IPC Expo during the years it was held in Anaheim. He has also been a popular speaker at IPC Designer's council meetings on a variety of topics including copper filled microvia technology.

Following his tenure at TTM, he became Director of Engineering at hallmark Circuits in San Diego, CA, where he helped with the implementation of a new cupric etch process for inner layers and helped map and characterize the processes for continuous improvement. His assignments included working with customers' most advanced designs utilizing Gore Speedboard C, PTFE multilayers, etc.

Prior to his employment at Advanced Circuits, Don was in charge of sales covering North America and Europe for Toppan Electronics (multilayers up to 70 layers and CSP in an advanced packaging facility) and most recently was employed by U.S. Circuits.

We are proud to have an engineer with such broad experience and expertise on our staff in the role of Director of Technology.  As such, Don oversees the development of new technologies and processes at our two U.S. based facilities as well as supporting the entire Advanced Circuits sales teams.

We are also making Don available to our customers for in-house training, seminars, workshops, and other customer functions as appropriate.  Please contact me via email to schedule Don at your facility.  Include details as to what type of training or presentation you desire as well as details as to be projected number of individuals attending, and preferred dates.

I look forward to hearing from you.
